Lilies and Cupcakes

Lilies are my favorite flowers.  Especially star gazer lilies so I decided to paint one on one of my jars.  I also love the color pink so I painted one of the jars neon pink.  Then I added ice cream cones and cupcakes to the mix.

The cupcakes and ice cream cones are made out of Sculpey oven bake clay.

Sail Away

I have lots of mason jar projects coming up because of my Etsy store.  The jar of the day is my nautical jar.  This one is dedicated  to my Grandpa who is no longer with us.  Him and my dad always wanted a sail boat.  I tend to like them too.  It may be the beach bum in me!

These Craft Smart paints are the least expensive ones at Michael's but they do the job.  I fell in love with this color as soon as I saw it.  So of course I had to buy it.

This is all hand painted.  Once the blue has a few coats and is dry start painting your birds and sail boats.

This is a braided piece of twine.  Just braid it like you would braid your own hair.

This was my easiest mason jar project but one of my favorites.  Of course I love all the pink ones I make but this one was one of the top 3.

Hangin' with the Gnomies

My mom and I love gnomes.  Actually that big garden gnome in the background was a project this past summer.  I had to revive his lovely paint because he turned into a metal lifeless looking statue.

You just start by using red paint.  A few coats will be needed.

Once the paint dries take sand paper (and an emery board for the letters on the jar) and just sand down the jar.  This is how you achieve the distressed look.

The gnome and the mushroom are made out of Sculpey oven bake clay.

Valentine's Day Mason Jars

Valentine's Day is coming up!  I know I'm kind of late to the party but all three of these jars have taken some time and I was also away on business.

All supplies were bought at Michael's.

Let's go back in time

I don't have a tutorial for these because they are all hand painted.  For some reason Elvis didn't come out the way I wanted him to, BUT I love the way Audrey and Marilyn came out.

Boleslawiec inspired Mason Jar

These are my Boleslawiec inspired Mason Jars.  I'm Polish and Boleslawiec is beautiful pottery that is handpainted.  In the next picture you can see the original Boleslawiec in the mug in the background.

Since I didn't have the color for the background I had to improvise and I used these three colors to make the color below.

These are the two colors I used for the actual painting of these jars.

Voila!  Just add the raffia and the jars are finished.

Also I have these listed on my Etsy Shop!  My first item!

Sunflowers

My inspiration.  My mom's favorite flower is the sunflower.  All of my items used to make these jars are from Michael's and Cosco.

The espresso color is used for this jar.

Take the black, espresso, and metallic gold and mix it for the color below.

Paint circles for the inside of the sunflowers.

Use the dark yellow for one set of the petals.

Then use the bright  yellow for the other petals.

Use sand paper or an emery board to give the jar a distressed look.  You can also use your nail for the extremely fine parts of the jar.

This wire ribbon is from Cosco.

Make sure you use sealant for these jars as well!

There you have it.  Sunflower inspired mason jars!
